The Welsh Medicines Partnership (WMP) is unique to Wales. With financial support from the National Assembly,
it brings together four separate Welsh organisations, each with its own particular area of specialist expertise in the use of medicines,
with a view to co-ordinating their activity in the service of NHS Wales

Welsh Medicines Information Centre (WMIC) - Visit site |

The Welsh Medicines Information Centre (WMIC) is the national Medicines Information Centre of Wales and also functions as a
regional centre offering support to the eight local MI centres within Wales.
Across the UK, MI centres work closely together to provide a
'virtual' national service. The centres are staffed by pharmacists with clinical expertise, and particular skills in locating, assessing
and interpreting information about medicines.

Therapeutics & Toxicology Centre - Visit site |

The Therapeutics and Toxicology Centre provides advice on the acute and chronic toxicity of drugs, chemicals and naturally
occurring agents to health professionals, government agencies and industries. The Unit offers bioanalytical services for the measurement
of drugs and chemicals and undertakes training in the safe use of such substances for health care professionals and other interested groups.
The Unit also provides clinical services for the diagnosis and treatment of individuals with suspected toxicity due to drugs or chemicals.

Committee on the Safety of Medicines (Wales) (CSM Wales) - Visit site |

CSM Wales is a regional monitoring centre that acts on behalf of the
Committee on Safety of Medicines (CSM) and the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) to promote
the spontaneous reporting of suspected adverse drug reactions (via the yellow card scheme) in Wales.
CSM Wales was established in 1983, and is
jointly co-ordinated by clinical pharmacologists in the Department of Pharmacology, Therapeutics and Toxicology, Wales College of Medicine and pharmacists
at the Welsh Medicines Information Centre, University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff.

National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE) - Visit site |

The National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE) is part of the NHS. It is the independent organisation responsible for providing
national guidance on treatments and care for people using the NHS in England and Wales. Our guidance is intended for healthcare professionals,
patients and their carers to help them make decisions about treatment and healthcare. NICE guidance is developed using the expertise
of the NHS and wider healthcare community including NHS staff, healthcare professionals, patients and carers, industry and the academic community.

National Prescribing Centre (NPC) - Visit site |

The National Prescribing Centre is a health service organisation, formed in April 1996 by the Department of Health.
Its aim is to 'promote and support high quality, cost-effective prescribing and medicines management across the NHS, to help
improve patient care and service delivery'

All Wales Medicines Strategy Group (AWMSG) - Visit site |

The All Wales Medicines Strategy Group (AWMSG) will provide advice to the Minister for Health & Social Services in an effective,
efficient and transparent manner on strategic medicines management and prescribing. The AWMSG, acting in a strategic and advisory capacity,
will be seen as the conduit through which consensus can be reached on medicines management issues, especially those affecting both primary
and secondary care.
